Prism News!

UPDATE!

BETA WILL BE RELEASED IN EARLY JULY!
BETA TESTING BEGINS ON JUNE 21ST!

Confirmed, 100% true. etc. Yes folks, the new Prism finally has CONFIRMED dates that I will not change. You have my word.

I will choose beta testers. The sure way to NOT become a beta tester is to ask me.

On the day of the release, I will be on PC all day fixing glitches if people discover them and constantly posting updates. I’m tackling on brand new concepts for the Pokemon world, so it wouldn’t surprise me if there are glitches. These are things that have never been done before, so look forward to that too!

Screenshots? What that?

I just realised something unfortunate: the lack of screenshots of anything here. But no worries! Curing the curious illness of missing screenshots, I’ll post some rijonAdventures ones to keep everyone a little updated on what’s been happening.

Lots of map updates. I’ll go through the first: I decided to throw out the original design of Origal Maze for something a bit bigger in scale. It’s still retaining that name (though I’m considering using route numbers) but it’s very, very different.

The second screenshot shows that I’ve changed the west of a certain route. But, I’ll leave that for later.

Oh, and finally, here’s a train station.

Getting closer, getting more refined

Been a while, hasn’t it? Got some updates for you guys, though they are admittedly pretty minor. I’m not close enough to a final release, but I’m not dead and rijonAdventures isn’t dead either. That’s a promise! (*By admission, SoulSilver will occupy my soul for a while once it releases.)

Because I haven’t been making my intentions clear, I’ll re-state them. The actual final release will be coincident with Pokémon Prism, but since that won’t be up for a while I won’t be giving the all-clear either. However, I do intend to make a more complete beta release – maybe one that’ll be close to the final version, just without the touches added.

With that out of the way, here’s some screenshots of what you will see in the next and final version – refinements to existing areas.

Seashore City finally has a sea shore.
The Guru gives information on stuff you might not know, and tips on your adventure.
Cycling Road has been completely rebuilt.
Hayward better reflects changes done 20 years in the future.
What’s a Trainer Lounge?
More Seashore City.
Mt. Boulder Range is completely redone too.

Definite while

Been a while since my last update (three months). Much too busy this year, though I’ve been doing things. I’m not dead!

A lot of things are worked on, never you worry. The project goal has been thrown off a fair bit, but in the process, I can make a whole lot of refinements to the game. And clean up my dirty work. Maybe I’ll be able to release a beta with all of the Rijon region accessible.

In the meantime, take a look one of the kinds of changes I’m making.

Apparently, the computer of the artist who’s working on rijonAdventures’ excellent art has needed a reformat. But, hopefully I can show you guys more art later on!

Virturia

Portal.

Virturia is a virtual reality chamber. The world inside is completely virtual. You’re thrown straight into this world as part of the South Rijon quest.

Azalea Town

Not hard to guess where this is.

South Rijon – Panning Creek

Panning Creek is one of the areas of South Rijon.

It consists of bridges, bridges, and a long river.

There are numerous spots where you’ll find hidden items, as well. What kind of items flow down this creek?

Merson City Hot Springs

Let’s face it; no Japanese-style hotel (in Merson City!) is complete without hot springs! And there’s one way to get into them; through the Hotel! This area is not available in the public beta. There’s a small oversight that may allow you to access the exterior suites and the spas, but this may lead to a game-ending glitch. It has been corrected in a small beta rerelease which you can download in the Downloads section.

Archivist’s note: Sorry, we currently do not have a copy of this release.

Access through the old man in the Hotel once you’ve gotten to a certain point.
The old lady lets you into the spring. It’s an old lady because old ladies are more responsible, obviously.
Aaaaaaah. Relaxing!

You may accidentally smash into the women’s spa by a not-so-obvious means (or if you’re a girl player, vice versa). If you’re a boy, you’re invading the privacy of numerous women, so your appearance is not so welcome.

Iiiiiyaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Your exit won’t be so easy.

That’s just morally wrong, but oh so comedic.

Beginning! Seashore City!

This area is accessible in the beta already. I’m sure you all know that. But, there might be a few things you don’t know about the town.

Seashore is the down you start out at. There are all sorts of places worth visiting here, though there are more outside, of course!

The sign tells you where you are…
There’s more places here.
Did you know there’s a gym here?

I won’t go into too much detail about the places you can already visit in the beta, though. Soon, I’ll be talking about the new areas!

But first, there’s one more thing I should talk about for the day.
